NATIONAL® Bentonite may be used as insoluble, inorganic builders in detergent. They swell in the presence of water to emulsify oily materials and hold fine particles of soil in suspension. They help soften water by ion exchange. Laundry detergents and liquid hand cleansers/soaps rely on the inclusion of bentonite to remove the impurities in solvents and to soften fabrics.
