NE™ Tubing Retrievable Safety Valve

The NE™ TRSV is a self-equalizing, surface-controlled, subsurface safety valve (SCSSV) designed to shut in a well at a point below the surface.

To open the NE TRSV, pressure is applied to the control line to equalize the pressure across the closure device. Once the pressure is equalized across the flapper, hold-open pressure is applied to the control line to fully open the flapper. A single rod piston, opposed by a compression spring and the well pressure, operates the flapper mechanism. The rod piston actuator uses non-elastomer dynamic seals. When pressure is released from the piston chamber, the spring moves the piston up, and the torsion spring rotates the flapper to the closed position. The NE TRSV provides 100% metal-to-metal well containment in the valve's closed position.

The NE TRSV is available in 2 3/8 in., 2 7/8 in., 3 1/2 in., and 4 1/2 in., and is pressure rated from 5,000 to 10,000 psi. With minimized body connections and enhanced debris isolation, the NE TRSV uses the rod piston actuator from the Halliburton SP™ TRSV which is the most field-proven and reliable piston actuator in the industry.
