Improving operations performance by providing high-performance rigs with innovative, automated technologies
Drilling rigs account for up to 35 percent of well-related project costs depending on the operating environment. Improving rig capabilities and performance can substantially reduce risks and project costs. Advanced capabilities and specialized rigs are more difficult to source and typically require longer lead times to mobilize.
Halliburton Project Management has extensive experience in determining the optimum rigs for our projects, and has cultivated strong global relationships with rig contractors in sourcing the most appropriate rig type for any project. With our large network of suppliers, Halliburton can negotiate rig pricing and optimize deliverability factors such as the coordination of timelines and the costs for mobilization and demobilization.
Trinidad Drilling International
In 2014, Halliburton and Trinidad Drilling Ltd. formed a joint venture, Trinidad Drilling International, to deliver top-tier rigs to Halliburton Project Management projects in order to deliver wells faster and enhance crew safety. Trinidad Drilling’s high-performance drilling services, combined with leading-edge Halliburton technology and project management capabilities, provide a new level of integration and performance rarely seen on land rigs.
This joint venture also provides an unprecedented opportunity for technology developments. It combines the latest-generation service technology of Halliburton with the rig design, automation, and execution capabilities of Trinidad Drilling. Technology development is further enhanced and accelerated through a Halliburton drilling technology facility that uses a ready-for-the-field, Trinidad-designed-and-engineered rig for live testing of rig and downhole technologies.
Halliburton has a history of being an innovator and leader in oilfield technology. Continuing in this tradition, Halliburton has invested in the latest generation of efficient rig technology under development by Raptor Rig Limited. Through this investment, Halliburton Project Management gains access to proprietary dual-system, automated drilling, and advanced coiled tubing drilling rig technologies.
