Neutral pH buffer
SODIUM BICARBONATE is used to lower the pH of drilling fluid slurries from a pH of 12 – 13 (alkaline) to a neutral pH range of 8 – 9. SODIUM BICARBONATE can be added to a base drilling fluid as a pH neutralizing additive. SODIUM BICARBONATE is also used as a buffer when added to acidic water to raise the pH to 8 – 9.
•Treat cement contamination in drilling slurry and bentonite water-based drilling fluids
•Softens water by removing calcium and manganese
•Easy to mix and use
•Economical method to lower pH
•Safe to use
